Wisconsin IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) / Family Care Self-Directed Supports¶
Wisconsin IRIS is a fully self-directed HCBS waiver for elderly adults and adults with disabilities. Participants receive an individual budget and have full authority to hire workers including family members and spouses. The Family Care managed care program also offers a self-directed supports option. IRIS is a large program with approximately 22,000 participants and no waitlist since the functional screen waitlist was eliminated.
