Washington Community Living Connections, ADRCs, Area Agencies on Aging, and 211 Resource Navigation¶
Washington caregivers can use Community Living Connections, Aging and Disability Resource Centers, Area Agencies on Aging, Home and Community Services offices, Developmental Disabilities Administration offices, and WA 211 to find aging, disability, caregiver, respite, long-term services and supports, in-home services, meals, transportation, housing, food, utilities, health care, mental health, and community resource referrals.
Washington DSHS says Community Living Connections lets Washington residents learn about and access the full range of private and public long-term service and support options through a website and toll-free phone line, and directs people to call 1-855-567-0252. DSHS says Senior Information and Assistance is a free information and referral service for adults age 60 and older and for family and friends helping care for an older adult. For adults age 18-59, DSHS routes users to local Home and Community Services offices; for adults who may need Medicaid or other state funding, DSHS routes users to Home and Community Services; and for adults with developmental disabilities, DSHS routes users to Developmental Disabilities Administration local offices. DSHS describes ADRCs as integrated points of entry into long-term and home or community-based supports that provide objective information, advice, counseling, and assistance and help people access public and private long-term supports and services. DSHS caregiver resources direct caregivers to local Community Living Connections, Area Agencies on Aging, or Home and Community Services offices for practical caregiving information and local resources. WA 211 is a free, confidential, multilingual statewide helpline and resource directory with phone, text, online search, and email paths, covering groceries, housing, utilities, elder care, childcare, health care, mental health, transportation, food, financial assistance, disabilities, traumatic brain injury, shelter, and other local community resources.
