New York National Family Caregiver Support Program and Caregiver Resource Centers¶
New York State Office for the Aging administers the National Family Caregiver Support Program through 59 Area Agencies on Aging and also supports Caregiver Resource Centers and state respite services. Caregivers can use NY Connects for statewide information, assistance, options counseling, and local program routing.
New York's NFCSP provides information, assistance gaining access to services, case management, caregiver counseling, support groups, caregiver training, in-home or out-of-home respite, and limited supplemental services. NYSOFA administers NFCSP through 59 Area Agencies on Aging. NYSOFA also funds Caregiver Resource Centers in selected counties and state respite programs, while all local offices for the aging provide respite services. NY Connects is the statewide No Wrong Door/ADRC access point for free, objective information and assistance, options counseling, caregiver supports, and local program referrals.
