Mississippi DAAS, MAC, Area Agencies on Aging, and 211 Resource Navigation

Mississippi caregivers can use the Mississippi Department of Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services, Mississippi Access to Care Network, local Area Agencies on Aging, and Mississippi 211 to find caregiver, aging, disability, home and community-based service, respite, meals, homemaker, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid, elder abuse prevention, health, disaster, domestic, financial, and local human-service referrals.

Mississippi's Division of Aging and Adult Services helps older adults, vulnerable adults, families, and caregivers connect to needed services and achieve healthy, safe, independent lifestyles. DAAS partners with local Area Agencies on Aging statewide to offer services to older adults, vulnerable adults, and caregivers, with county-based AAA lookup. Mississippi Access to Care Centers are a free source of reliable, objective, and unbiased information about a broad range of programs and services; the MAC helpline can connect people with experts who identify helpful services, answer health-insurance questions, locate community services, and support decisions about long-term services and supports. DAAS caregiver and community-living resources include the National Family Caregiver Support Program, respite services, home-delivered and congregate meals, senior centers, homemaker services, and transportation assistance. Mississippi 211 is listed by the state as Community Information and Referral Services and is described by United Way as a free confidential 24/7 referral and information helpline and website for health, human service, financial, domestic, disaster, and other support needs.
