Michigan Aging Services, Area Agencies on Aging, and 211 Resource Navigation¶
Michigan caregivers can use MDHHS Aging Services, the statewide Area Agency on Aging network, Mi Caregiver Connection, Aging Supports and Services search, and Michigan 211 to find caregiver, community, in-home, nutrition, respite, adult day care, counseling, support group, training, transportation, legal, energy, housing, health, disaster, and local human-service referrals.
Michigan MDHHS says aging services help older adults live in the setting of their choice for as long as possible and complement care provided by family or friends. MDHHS directs people to their local Area Agency on Aging to learn about caregiver, community, in-home, and nutrition services and eligibility. Listed caregiver services include adult day care, counseling, respite care, support groups, and training; community and in-home services include energy assistance, legal assistance, medication management, transportation, care management, case coordination, chore, homemaker, and personal care. Mi Caregiver Connection is a statewide caregiver starting point from Michigan's 16 Area Agencies on Aging, with local agency connection, caregiver support guidance, respite care resources, in-home care, support groups, and education. Michigan 211 is a free confidential information and referral service with seven regional contact centers covering Michigan, connecting residents to thousands of health and human service resources.
