Kentucky Caregiver Support Services¶
Kentucky Caregiver Support Services include the National Family Caregiver Support Program for informal caregivers of older adults, people with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders, and older relative caregivers, plus the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program for eligible grandparents caring for grandchildren.
Kentucky's NFCSP offers information about programs and services, assistance accessing services, counseling, support groups, caregiver training, respite, and limited supplemental services. The Kentucky Family Caregiver Program supports eligible grandparents with information, support groups, counseling, training, and possible grants or vouchers for clothing, respite, school supplies, educational needs, legal services, medical or dental services, and other approved expenses.
Eligibility¶
- Household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Applicant age: at least 55
- Care recipient age: at least 19
- Relationship: parent, child, other relative, non relative

- Does your relationship to the person — parent, child, other relative, or non relative — count for this program?
- What are the current income and asset limits, and whose income counts? — Our record lists 150% of the federal poverty level — limits change, so confirm the current figures.
- Is the person receiving care in the covered age range (19 or older)?
- Is there a caregiver-specific department, coordinator, or support line? Ask for it by name. — Many agencies have one that isn’t advertised on the website.
