Kansas Dependent Care, EITC, Senior Property, and Disabled Access Tax Relief

Kansas tax relief relevant to caregiver households, including the resident child and dependent care credit, Kansas earned income tax credit, SAFESR property tax relief for low-income seniors, and the disabled access credit for accessibility modifications to a taxpayer's home or the home of a lineal ascendant or descendant.

Kansas residents may claim a child and dependent care credit equal to 50% of the federal Form 2441 credit. Kansas also offers a resident EITC equal to 17% of the federal EITC. Low-income Kansas homeowners who were age 65 or older for all of 2025 may qualify for SAFESR, a refund equal to 75% of timely paid 2025 property tax on a principal residence, subject to household income and home-value limits. Kansas also provides a disabled access credit for expenditures that make a Kansas personal residence, including the residence of a lineal ascendant or descendant, accessible to individuals with disabilities.
