Area Agencies on Aging¶
The Area Agencies on Aging provide information and assistance to Hawaii residents 60 years and older, persons of any age with physical disabilities, severe mental illness, dementia, and developmental or intellectual disabilities, as well as informal and family caregivers.

- Does the person receiving care live in Hawaii? — Residency is usually the first thing a program checks.
- Is there a caregiver-specific department, coordinator, or support line? Ask for it by name. — Many agencies have one that isn’t advertised on the website.
