DC Elderly and Persons with Physical Disabilities Waiver (Self-Direction)¶
The District of Columbia's Elderly and Persons with Physical Disabilities (EPD) waiver provides self-directed personal care services for Medicaid-eligible individuals. Family members can be hired as attendants, though spouses are excluded. DC also offers an Individual and Family Support (IFS) waiver for individuals with intellectual disabilities with additional self-direction options.
