Colorado Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI)¶
Colorado's FAMLI program provides paid family and medical leave to nearly all Colorado workers. Employees can take up to 12 weeks of paid leave for family or medical reasons (up to 16 weeks with pregnancy complications). Jointly funded by employer and employee payroll premiums.
Up to 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave per year, with an additional 4 weeks available for pregnancy or childbirth complications (16 weeks total). Uses a progressive wage replacement formula: 90% of wages up to 50% of the state average weekly wage (SAWW), plus 50% of wages above that threshold, with a maximum weekly benefit of $1,381.45 in 2026 (based on SAWW of $1,534.94). Includes job protection — employers must restore the employee to the same or equivalent position. Both employers and employees contribute through payroll premiums (0.9% of wages, split).
