Arizona state income tax relief that may apply to caregiver households, including the family income tax credit, dependent tax credit, increased excise tax credit for disabled and low-income individuals, property tax credit for older adults and SSI recipients, and care-related exemptions for certain older adults supported by the taxpayer.
Arizona offers several tax relief paths relevant to caregiver households. The family income tax credit is income-limited and nonrefundable. The dependent credit is $100 for each dependent under age 17 and $25 for other dependents, subject to phaseout. The increased excise tax credit is intended to assist disabled and low-income individuals and can provide $25 per eligible person, up to $100 per household. Arizona also describes a property tax credit for residents age 65 or older or receiving Title 16 SSI with very low household income, and care-related exemptions for certain older adults supported by the taxpayer, including a parent or ancestor age 65 or older who needs help with activities of daily living.
