Alaska Personal Care Assistance (PCA) and Community First Choice (CFC)¶
Personal Care Services (PCS) and Community First Choice (CFC) are Alaska Medicaid programs that provide long-term services and supports to eligible seniors and individuals with disabilities. PCS offers help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as instrumental activities such as shopping and laundry. CFC is a suite of services for those meeting an institutional level of care, emphasizing participant autonomy and including additional services like PERS, case management, and chore services.
Services include assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, eating, locomotion, and transferring, plus Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) like light housework, laundry, and shopping. CFC also provides Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), case management, and chore services. Payment rates for FY2026 are $9.01 per 15-minute unit for PCS/CFC personal care, $11.66 for CFC Skill Building, and $9.43 for CFC Chore services.
