Alabama CARES Caregiver Assistance

Alabama CARES provides support services for family caregivers of frail older adults, older relatives caring for children, and older relatives or parents caring for adults with disabilities. The program is administered through the Alabama Department of Senior Services and local Area Agencies on Aging.

Alabama CARES provides caregiver information, assistance accessing community services, support groups, respite, counseling, caregiver education, training, and limited supplemental services. Income does not prevent access, but direct services are prioritized for family caregivers with the greatest social and economic need. Intake is through local Area Agencies on Aging and ADRCs via 1-800-AGE-LINE.
